Standard double glazing: tempered and insulation value comparable to HR++

Our standard double glazing has excellent insulating properties comparable to HR++. The features at a glance:

• HST tempered glass is safer
  The glass is "Heat Strength Toughened," meaning it's tempered through thermal treatment. This gives the glass special properties: it's extra strong, resistant to greater temperature fluctuations, and safer. Just like glass in car windows or bus shelters, for example, the glass shatters into small pieces when broken.
• Argon-filled cavity
  The cavity between the glass layers is filled with argon. This noble gas provides better insulation than dry air.
• Special low E coating for better thermal efficiency
  The inner pane of the glass has an invisible low-E coating, which reduces heat loss. This means heat stays out in summer and in in winter, while maintaining the same light transmission.

Triple glazing: improves the insulation value HR+++

If you need even better insulation, you can opt for triple glazing. This consists of three panes of glass with two argon-filled cavities. The insulation value is comparable to HR+++.

This allows you to meet the standards required for the passive house standard. The heat loss, expressed as U-value, must be below 0,8 W/m²K. However, the U-value of glass depends not only on the type of glass but also on the glass size. For example, narrower strips of glass have a higher U-value than wider strips.

Laminated glass: laminated glass

Laminated glass is also called safety glass. It consists of individual sheets of glass with a transparent (PVB) film between them. If the glass breaks, this film holds it together, preventing large gaps. The construction of laminated glass is determined by the thickness of the sheets of glass and the film between them. Multiple layers of film can be used.
The maximum size of laminated glass is smaller than that of double and triple glazing. For both, the maximum size depends on the ratio of length to width.
